Hi Jane! Tell us a little bit about yourself

Hey there. My name’s Jane. I live on the NSW South Coast with my husband, 2 boys, “Molly” the dog and “Boon” the cat.

For the past 15 years, I have been on a deep healing journey toward finding myself, healing mental illness (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)) and sexual trauma, reclaiming my Body, deepening into self-love and everything in between.

I am passionate about living life from my soul-truth, deepening into self-love and sharing my story. I want to remind people that deepening into self-love and changing a negative self-criticising internal world into an inner-world of love, compassion, acceptance and empowered living is possible.

This is why I founded my business, BodyMastery. Our Bodies are such powerful self-healers. They know exactly what we need to live life from a place of love and compassion, authenticity, joy and all those wonderful feelings we get to experience as human’s. I love supporting others to reconnect with their Body and their truth. It brings such joy to my heart.

And when it’s time for me to relax and have fun, I love getting lost in fantasy novels, swimming, riding my flower covered bike, being in nature and hanging out with those I love.

What attracted you to become a meditation teacher and study with ACMM?

I studied to become a meditation teacher to deepen my practice which in turn deepened my teaching skills. I chose ACMM because it was offered via online study.

How has meditation impacted you on a personal level – what are the benefits you have seen?

Wow. This is a big question for me. Having lived with PTSD most of my life, I was disconnected from my Body and behaviours. Meditation has allowed me to cultivate self-awareness and deepen my relationship with my Body (on all levels). This has been key to healing myself from the inside out.

What does your personal meditation practice look like? What styles or types of meditation do you enjoy?

My meditation practice flows intuitively. I love starting the day with some form of connection.

This might look like stretching, pranayama into deep stillness. Another day, it might be journaling, dancing then into stillness. It really does depend on what my Body is calling for.

Listening to my Body’s wisdom has become a daily ritual for me. I believe it is super important to meet your Body where it’s at and not force any practices that are not aligned with your truth (been there done that – not helpful).

Some mornings I’ll miss my practice. Life happens. But I always do some form of meditation and inner -work throughout the day.

This may be a moment of deep conscious breathing whilst standing in the kitchen. Or focusing my busy mind on a self-loving affirmation. At times it might be sending love and compassion into my Body when I find myself in negative self-talk. Or I may feel to do some intuitive writing or journaling.

Even my workouts become a moving meditation which can turn into a wonderful emotional release.

Living life embodied is my practice. It’s a daily ritual. Being in the moment. Connecting. Listening. Allowing my intuition to guide me. Giving my Body space to share what is needed.

Through my experience with mental illness, I had to let go of seeing a meditation as a sit-in-stillness-must-be-done-a certain-way practice. Meditation became so much more.

To me it has become a living flow that is guided by my Body’s wisdom. My soul-truth.

Do you have your own meditation/mindfulness/holistic business, plans to start one?

Yes, I do have my own holistic business called BodyMastery.

BodyMastery has been evolving with me since 2012. It started with a light-bulb moment of “OMG, I’m avoiding my Body, Humanness and wounded self with Spiritual practices”. I realised that my goal of Spiritual Mastery was not Truth.

I was being called to master living in my Body as a human, love myself and express my soul-truth through all I do. This was when BodyMastery was conceived and I’ve been flowing with this powerful energy ever since.

Using my skills as Holistic Personal Trainer, Meditation Teacher, Self-Love Mentor, Energy Healer, mental illness survivor and heart-centred human being, I have created services that support others to deepen into self-love, reclaim their Body and nurture positive love-filled change from the inside-out.

Last year, I created a sacred online studio that offers women an opportunity to cultivate a loving compassionate relationship with their Body, reconnect with their intuition (soul-truth) and live life empowered in self-love.

Do you have any classes or workshops coming up?

In the studio, I offer online classes that support clients to cultivate a strong supple pelvic floor, stretch their Body with gentleness, prioritise self-care and take time to meditate each week.

I offer a focused monthly theme that infuses my live weekly classes. These range from gentle stretch class to meditation and a gentle pelvic floor/core connection class.

I also offer private BodyMastery online sessions to anyone who feels called to work with me. These sessions are infused with self-love and will always meet your Body where it’s at in the moment. The session may be mentoring and energy healing; a gentle stretch and meditation; or a fully guided meditation. I let the energy and needs of my client guide me.

Meditation infuses all my classes and private sessions – whether it’s in stillness or movement. Meditation plays an integral role in helping my clients to connect with their Body and in turn with their innate-wisdom.

It truly is an awe-inspiring experience to witness the change in our Bodies when we allow ourselves to deepen into relationship with this incredible organism we live through.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about becoming a meditation teacher?

I would say go for it. Dive in. Be ready to meet yourself with loads of love, compassion, patience and acceptance. It’s definitely an inner-journey of healing, connection and awakening that allows you to deepen into your Truth, which in turn allows you to hold space for others. It truly is life-changing.

What have you enjoyed about studying at ACMM?

I loved my coach. I was held in beautiful sacred space where I felt safe to be transparent and speak my truth. And the course was online, which was perfect!
