Lauren Sieger, is a meditation teacher who sees meditation as a practical, human life skill that belongs in community spaces, everyday lives, and real conversations. Based in Brisbane, Lauren is passionate about making meditation accessible, approachable, and deeply supportive for those who are curious to begin.
Meditation Training With ACMM and Finding Her Voice

Her experience of the training was deeply nourishing. “Personally, my study at ACMM supported me to explore my own wounds, limitations and consciousness,” she shares. “Practices like flow of consciousness, journaling, and the anxiety and trauma elective were especially meaningful for me.”
Professionally, the impact was just as profound. “The course instilled a level of confidence in me that I do not think could have come from anywhere else,” Lauren says. “Morgan was so encouraging. She genuinely believed in me and offered this mother like support throughout my studies.”
Lauren entered the course with a strong fear of public speaking. By the end, that fear had softened into trust. “Between Morgan and the encouragement from Lisa, I was able to get out of my own way and just teach. I felt like a baby bird ready to fly out of the nest.”
Slow Space A Business Born From Community
Lauren established her business Slow Space six months before completing her studies. The timing felt natural. “I was so eager to start teaching,” she says. “A friend told me about a community hall. I reached out, and everything fell into place very quickly.”
Today, Lauren offers in person meditation classes and workshops, which remain her favourite way to teach. She currently facilitates fortnightly meditation classes in New Farm, Brisbane, held on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Slow Space values simplicity, safety, and connection. Lauren offers mindfulness and Buddhist inspired meditation practices, alongside practical tools that students can use in daily life. She is also expanding into small practices that support emotional awareness and healthy boundaries.
Teaching From Humanity
Lauren’s teaching journey has involved unlearning just as much as learning.
“When I first started, I had a lot of fear about how I would be perceived,” she reflects. “I thought I needed to embody a master and come across in a certain way. Very structured, very professional.”
Over time, something shifted. “I have learned that the more human and authentic I am, the more connected I feel to my students. When I let my heart open, teaching becomes more sustainable and more real.”
She believes that many people come to meditation as beginners, and that gentleness matters. “Most people are new to meditation. Sharing why we meditate, demystifying the practice, and guiding gently is so important.”
At the heart of her work is a strong belief in safety. “Safe, supportive spaces are deeply needed in the community,” she says. “Meditation can be vulnerable, and people need to feel held.”
Connection Beyond the Meditation Cushion
Alongside her meditation teaching, Lauren is also a hairdresser. Interestingly, meditation has influenced that work too. “Meditation has given me the ability to listen more deeply and understand people’s needs,” she shares. “I have even had some hair clients become meditation students.”
Lauren also collaborates with fellow ACMM graduate Caitlyn Northover. The two met through the ACMM community page three years ago and have since hosted workshops together, bonded by a shared passion for meditation and community care.
Connection with other students during her training was a highlight. “Connecting with Caitlyn and my study buddy Sonia was such a meaningful part of the experience,” Lauren says.
Lauren promotes her offerings through Instagram, her website, Facebook, and local flyers. Growth for her is intentional and organic and relational.
One book that has supported her teaching and business journey is The Wise Heart by Jack Kornfield, which she encountered through the Buddhist Psychology elective. Its emphasis on compassion and understanding continues to inform her work.
A Vision for Accessible Meditation
Lauren’s vision is clear. Meditation should not feel intimidating or exclusive. It should feel human, welcoming, and woven into everyday life.
“Not one size fits all,” she explains. “Everyone needs some form of meditation, and my role is to help people find what works for them.”
Through Slow Space, Lauren continues to create spaces where people can slow down, breathe, and reconnect with themselves and with one another.
