Highlighting Our Graduates: Caitlin Wheat

1.5 mins. This month we chat to international meditation graduate Caitlin Wheat, from Chile, who has integrated meditation into her holistic wellness business.

Hi Caitlin! Tell us a little about yourself.

I am Australian and was born in Rockhampton, QLD. Six years ago I moved to Santiago, Chile. I have a dog named Bella and a cat named Ze. I live with my partner Bruno, who is Brazilian. So we speak a mix of Spanish, Portuguese and English at home, which can be confusing!

I am a naturopath and cofounder of a holistic wellness centre called Well Within

What attracted you to become a meditation teacher and study with ACMM?

Meditation has been a part of my life for over 10 years so I know the amazing benefits. There was an importance to share it with my clients, to be truly holistic – mind, body and spirit. I felt I was missing something in my business, and meditation has filled that gap.

I have been running a new moon meditation circle as part of the global sisterhood for the past 3 years and while they give great resources I wanted to expand on that and have more training around how to hold space and hold meditation classes.

How has meditation impacted you on a personal level – what are the benefits you have seen?

There have been multitudes! I used to be a very anxious person. Meditation has helped me to be calmer and has given me new perspectives on life. I am better able to connect to myself. Meditation centres me each morning so I can go out into the world with a great mindset and connected to my heart.

What does your personal meditation practise look like? Are there any particular styles of meditation you enjoy?

I meditate each morning – it’s one of the first things I do! If I miss a day I really feel it. I will go into a meditation whenever I’ve had a hard day or need perspective on something, or to help me when I need to make hard decisions.

I love insight meditation, metta meditation and mantra meditations. However, I also use full-body relaxation and breathing techniques regularly. I guess you could say I love most styles!  I sit down each day and ask myself what is that I need most, and then I follow that guidance.

How does meditation form part of your business?

I incorporate meditation into my naturopathy practice by sending recorded meditations to my clients to help with whatever health issue they are dealing with. At the start of 2020, I also started a holistic wellness centre with two of my best friends. At the moment we are online (COVID!!) but plan to go physical as soon as we can.

Since graduating from ACMM, I have started running weekly online meditation classes, on Monday’s in English and Thursday’s in Spanish. I also run a new moon meditation circle each month for women as part of the Global Sisterhood, and have been doing that for the past 3 years. I am always incorporating meditation into my corporate programs, as well as workshops as it adds something extra for the attendees, even if it just a grounding at the start, it helps to centre everyone and they love it.

Can you describe your client base?

My client base is mostly women, between 20 and 65. There are many ex-pats living in Chile, and I also get a local Chilean audience to the Spanish classes. I also have some clients who live overseas from Australia and the US and Canada.

Is there a particular audience you want to grow?

I want to connect with amazing women who want a more holistic approach to life and their health. Those who are willing to connect more deeply with themselves.

Do you have any events, workshops or classes coming up in the next few months?

I have my weekly meditation classes and am always doing different workshops each month on a range of different topics, often in collaboration with other therapists- psychologists, reiki masters, yoga teachers etc – to give a full mind, body, spirit experience. You can check out everything on

What would you say to someone who is thinking about becoming a meditation teacher?

Do it! It is amazing to be able to hold space for people to connect more deeply with themselves. There are so many benefits and the course at ACMM is so supportive and well structured.

What have you enjoyed about studying with ACMM?

The support from the coaches as well as the depth of the course and the structure. It is really well put together and you come out with such confidence but also a desire to learn more and go deeper.

It brings us great joy to highlight the amazing paths of our graduates. They are so inspiring, and really illustrate the huge amount of doors a qualification in meditation teaching opens. Here are some other graduates we have spoken to recently: Meet Miranda, Meet Kate, Meet Tirrell, Meet Bronwyn.
